Ed Begley Jr.

I saw a documentary about LA's sprawl and towards the end they interviewed actor Ed Begley, Jr. I've seen him on a bunch of things, I think everybody has. But I had no idea how green he was. I don't know if he's car free, but he said he walks or bikes everywhere and they showed him riding around on what looked like a fairly modest bike. He's been an advocate for the lifestyle since the early 70's.

Turning up at Hollywood events on his bicycle, Ed has been considered an environmental leader in the Hollywood community for many years.

They also showed his house, which has to be about the most modest celeb. house I've ever seen. He's got it rigged up with a ton of green systems, and actually puts fresh water back into the city system.

I have a photo of Micheal Richards at a political event, I attended. Now there was a disappointment. He is thought to be a bike fanatic. Apparently his cycling was not a stress reliever. Now, Ed Begley, Jr. He is the real Mccoy. He won't disappoint we cyclists.

I'm not sure how true this is, but when he was filming the movie, Spirit Bear: The Simon Jackson Story in BC, I recall reading that he was seen riding a bike around the Lower Mainland in BC!

Yeah, it's a cute show. His wife seems little over the top but maybe the producers told her to be. Anyway, my son, budding environmentalist that he is, and I enjoy watching it together.

He was trying to get people to buy electric cars 25 years ago, when he was on St. Elsewhere. So he's no flash in the pan environmentalist.
