Alt transporter

Shamelessly cross-posted here and in the Utility Bikes section:

Not quite utility cycling, but an interesting idea for those going car-free who are still looking for a solution to larger loads. With an engine that small, I'm not so sure it would be any more useful than a trailer on a bike, but I bet it's still got a much higher mpg rating than any car out there.

That's a Honda 50 clone engine, and if you google "monkey bikes," you'll find all kinds of hop ups for it, including 110cc kits. If we were going seriously car free, I'd get this in a heartbeat over any regular scooter or motorcycle.

That cargobee thing is a good idea. Looks like it can fit two people at a time, too.

One person mentioned transporting 12 foot lumber as a reason for him not to go car free, and for that I think you might be able to use an e-bike or regular bike with a long bikes-at-work trailer... but the cargobee thing would be too small.
