Good way to keep mtb in dorm room?
Hey everyone,
I just bought a new Giant talon 29er 1 for some of the more serious trails around Clemson as I am going to school there in the fall. I have been told not to leave my bike outside, and need to figure out a good way to store it as I am living in a college dorm (limited space!!!). Any suggestions? Thanks |

If you're really motivated, a hex wrench and a pedal wrench can have that bike stored flat under your bed. Put it up on cinderblocks. Put it up on two cinderblocks and it could be just a matter of loosening the stem and turning it 90 degrees. Pull it out, align the bars, and *bam.*
The motivation aspect comes into play b/c it takes an extra step before you hop on and ride, but really this is not any more than unlocking a double locked bike. |
also, some dorm bunk beds can be unbolted and "flipped," making a sort of half loft bed out of them. We always did this at Delaware.
Also, get some kind of bag and old towel to really clean up your bike before bringing it inside. |
Thanks for all of the Suggestions!
I think my plan as of now is to loft my bed, put a fouton under the bed against the wall, and put the bike in between the fouton and the wall with the frond wheel off so that i can turn the handlebars parallel with the wall, fouton, etc. |
