Car free as of tomorrow
The time is finally here!!
The car is leaving tomorrow (sold to a relative), meaning we will finally be a car-free household, after 7+ months of talking about it. I can't wait to see it go, along with the $2,500/year pricetag to insure and maintain it.
We have a Zipcar membership, so I guess technically we will be very car-lite, using car share 1-2 times per month. Still, it will be the first time in my life I've not had a personal vehicle at my disposal.
Just had to share the excitement

Can you tell us more about your experience with Zipcar? A lot of us are interested but don't live in any of the cities that have it.

Congratulations. Soon you may wonder how you ever managed to survive with a car.

Excellent!
I forgot you lived in the Philly area.
I was up once for a small boat festival, then again to visit some friends in Brn Mawr.
Took the Amtrak up from Lancaster then the SEPTA out to their station, didn't bother to haul a bike along though.

It's gone, woohoo! Drove off into the sunset around 5:30 last night. Roody, we celebrated with a couple of Stone Smoked Porters

We have 4 cars within a 3 block radius of our house, so it's been incredibly easy to use. We also entered a promotional contest and got $500 worth of free driving credits, so thus far I have no complaints at all!
