Scandiho, thanks for posting. I liked the comments about how cycling has helped make Copenhagen a more livable city.

Amazing that that one city corner has seen 8000 cyclists that morning.

There have been quite a few of these type videos in recent years. Dutch videos abound and there are a few from Denmark too.

I wonder if these got widespread distribution, if it would have any impact on people's perception. I mean those people who say, "It will never happen. The car is here to stay".

Do you think this video will make people in North America think about what could be?

If by people you mean more than a few individuals, I doubt it very much.

Now, if you got the Hilfiger clan to Copenhagen and had them riding around on bicycles wearing tartan, that would probably do it.

Exactly. Amazing.

Here in the U.S., we have car counters that estimate the number of autos crossing a certain road. The objective is to create an even faster road in the future if too many cars hit the sensor! LOL!

A sad joke.

However, this counter can work the other way. In Des Moines, the counter proved that one 4-lane street could now be changed to two lane for car and bike lanes. The new arrangement seemed to have little impact on car traffic and made the street a little quieter. Woo-hoo for the counter!

Interesting to see only a few cyclists riding with helmets in this video, plus children being transported sans a helmet, the horror! Those parents should be immediately reported to child protective services. Good ol' Nanny States of America.
