This is my rolling cart:

My other grocery getting contraption is a 400lb capacity wagon with inflatable tires. I can't find a photo of it but I ordered it from Home Depot and it is excellent for dragging home big bags of cat litter and bulky packs of toilet paper. The heaviest load I've pulled on the wagon is 120 lbs of cat litter. Which reminds me, Her Majesty worked thru all of that litter and I need to buy more.

I should have had something like that when I lived in Winnipeg. I walked to get groceries etc., and was supplying 3 Majesties ... one His Majesty and two Her Majesties ... with their every need.

Some of my trips to the grocery store were pretty light on my stuff because Their Highnesses needed food and litter, and I was limited with what I could carry.

Sunday -- 43.68 km cycling + a bit of walking.

We drove into town and parked in a convenient location. And from there we did all the rest of what we wanted to do that day. That is often our car-light method ... drive a certain portion of the trip, then park it and do the rest by human powered transportation.

We cycled out to the end of the cycleway and beyond. That part was great. Sailing along nicely. Then we turned around. Can we say "sea breeze" ... gusting to about 30 km/h. The trip back was something of a slog.

But the rest of the weather was nice ... sunshine and about 19C.

We stopped at Fish Frenzy for dinner ... they make make some great seafood dishes (fish and chips type of stuff with a bit more variety ... delicious!).

Returned to the van and dropped off our Bike Fridays, and then walked to the local Carols By Candlelight. Lovely.

Walked 2.24 miles in a chilly drizzle. Picked up some new wool blend socks, set an appointment for an injection for next week, and let Google Maps know that a local Optician is no longer in business.

Also got a new unlocked phone over the weekend, but my carrier won't accept it and I'm not about to spend more on a new plan elsewhere, but this new 4" phone will replace my 7" tablet as my GPS tracker on my walks- and I might even take start taking some pictures.

Christmas shopping and preparations almost complete ... and all done by using the internet and dashing about on foot at lunch this week.

You need fenders and a rack on that thing.

Your right! Besides being my trainer that bike is also my rain bike. I just mounted a rack on the back of that bike... with a trunk bag. The rack and bag gives me the space needed for a jacket or sweatshirt (ether to take with.. or take off).

It takes a long time to walk a mile with a dog that has 6" long legs. Even at a trot.

I'm commuting now. After a couple of weeks I'm finally getting the energy to ride up most of the hills. The first one is a 300 footer, so that still takes me a number of starts and stops. I had a split shift with 3 1/2 hours off in the middle, so I ended up riding into downtown and spending some time at the library.

Just checked- Ting is scheduled to roll out GSM in February. Not sure what associated fees/taxes, but if I'm reading their pricing matrix correctly, I could be averaging between $9 and $12 a month. More than my current Tracfone service, but it looks like to be the least cost option to activate the new phone.

Wife managed to get 12/24-1/5 off and so my usual routine has been thrown out of whack because of it. I haven't been walking and I could feel a slight difference in my energy level as a result. So I made a point to go walk through the neighborhood before the family woke up. It was only 1.8 miles, but it did lift my spirits up a wee bit

Walking day today! I went to the bank, then to the coffee shop to work on some research projects. It was nice and sunny and COLD, just how I like it.

The beginning of a gnarly sinus infection has kept me from non-essential cycling, but it's just about licked (without a trip to the doctor!) No snow yet, so I might get to hit the hills later this week.

Saturday -- 10.95 km cycling up and down the local hills ... exploring!

Plus an upper body weights workout.
Plus walking up and down 200 steps.
Plus a core workout.
Plus washing (machine) and line hanging 4 loads of laundry ... more upper body work.

It was windy ... but the high for the day was 23C and there was no rain!
