PBP Tracking

The PBP tracking site is up.

Paris-Brest-Paris 2015

If you're going to the PBP (starting in about 5 days - Aug 16) and wouldn't mind if we tracked you, let us know your frame numbers.

B086 is my frame. Rusa560. It is 91F in Paris today. Did 100km mixing it up at Longchamps with the local hammerheads who s seemed to sneer at my handlebar bag and I suppose we all know how to earn respect in that situation. Anyways. Someone's saddle came off at 30mph and hit my front wheel but I managed not to go down. Scary Good luck and Bon voyage a tous

Wow, Ed, hopefully that wasn't your full complement of luck. Watch those fast guys, I have heard it gets a little sketchy.

Can you believe a saddle came off someone's bike I saw pbp going down the drain when it hit my wheel. Felt like I hit a pothole.

Anyway sorry you could not be here unterhausen. I am just going to try to hang with a group of similar riders and see what happens. If all goes well....breakfast in loudeac and late tea in brest

P204 here. Our plane leaves tomorrow afternoon!

(In fact, I'm going to add that to my signature.)

EDIT: There we go!

The tracking site is now showing departure times.

Type in the number and you'll see when the person is scheduled to depart.

F059, with a 17:15 start in the 90 hour group. Steady with short stops is the plan. But as Iron Mike says, everybody has a plan until they get hit.

If my calculations are correct ... RR3 is departing in less than half an hour.

He's in there somewhere ...

RR3 has made it to the third control and downtube 42 is at the second.

Little bit concerned about ThermionicScott ... hoping he's OK. Sometimes the updates are a bit delayed.

ThermionicScott is at the first control!

LWaB and downtube42 have been through the second control.

RR3 has passed through the 5th control ... almost halfway there!

RR3 arrived at Brest (618 km) about half an hour ago ... reaching the halfway point in 23 hours.

downtube 42 has been through Loudeac (449 km) about 45 min ago.

LWaB is still somewhere on the road to Loudeac.

ThermionicScott has been through Fougeres (310 km).

They seem to be having some difficulty updating the Tinteniac (364 km) information. I'm tracking a bunch of people, and that entry seems to be missing.

RR3 has been through Loudeac (782 km) on the way back about an hour ago.

downtube42 and LWab have been through Carhaix (525 km) on the way out approx. 4 and 2 hours ago, and could be on their way to Brest ... or they may be thinking of a rest as night has fallen there.

ThermionicScott went through Loudeac (449 km) on the way out, about 3 hours ago.

Yes, they put up a message explaining they are having problems with the internet connection there so they can't provide times of passage and would like to apologize.

Il y a actuellement des problèmes de connexions avec Tinteniac.
Nous ne recevons donc pas les heures de passages de ce contrôle.
Veuillez nous en excuser.

Yeah, I figured something like that had happened. Happens every time at one of the controls.

Anyway, right now I think things are slow because it was night, and I suspect various ones have caught a bit of a nap.

downtube 42 has moved on to Brest, but at the moment everyone else is where they were according to the charts.

They're having trouble with the tracking in several places on the way back.

I'd assume that RR3 is close to finishing. The first riders have already crossed the line.

The tracking indicates that everyone else here has made it to Brest ... at least.

Based on the message below, I'd guess that we're not going to hear until someone reaches Loudeac on the way back.

"Il y a actuellement des problèmes de connexions avec Carhaix, Tinteniac, Fougères et Villaines.
Nous ne recevons donc pas les heures de passages de ces contrôles.
Veuillez nous en excuser."

either that, or RR3 took my advice to get to Brest fast and stop at every beer joint he sees on the way back
I have some friends with spot trackers, much more entertaining than the official tracking site
