advice needed: adding bottle cages to older frame

I have a gran fondo coming up June 11 (Tulsa Tough) and was planning on riding my "best" bike, a carbon fiber Ciocc. The thing is, I recently built up an early 80s Batavus with a compact crank and it turns out that not only is the Batavus a lot more comfortable, but when I've timed my rides it is as fast or faster than the Ciocc. It could be that I'm not in as good a shape as I hoped to be in for this time of year and the compact just works better for me now, but the fact of the matter is that I think I'll ride the Batavus.

The problem is, being an early 80s racer, it only has one set of bottle cage bosses. What options are there for carrying more water with me: seat mounted, bar mounted, etc.? What works for you and where could I find it in the next 10 days?

The bike in question: 1984 Batavus Professional

Zefal Gizmo is probably your best bet. I just bought one for an older Specialized Sequoia that I picked up. The Zefal mount is non-obtrusive and made of nylon, so it won't rust.

Thanks. The Zefal Gizmo looks like it will do the trick.

On older steel bikes, I've used water bottle cage clamps with excellent success. Like these:
VO Bottle Cage Clamp - Water Bottles & Cages - Accessories

I've used them to add two bottles to an '84 Trek I used for randonneuring. One bottle on the seat tube, and one slung underneath the down tube.

The King Cage Universal Support Bolt looks most tenacious - it's a metal hose clamp with a stud mounted on it.

King ManyThing Cage & Universal Support Bolt - BIKEPACKING.com

When I need extra water I bring a 1 liter Platypus in my Arkel Tailrider trunk bag atop my rear rack, although that's getting tight with clothing to account for temperature swings on mountainous rides starting before sunrise.

I wanted some of those usb's, but they put the cage further from the bike. This is bad for my application because I want to put a bottle under the down tube, and don't want to waste much space. BITD, cages lent themselves to using clamps. Now, that's not so common. I just saw one at the LBS that I think I'm going to try. I'll post the brand later. I already have a vintage cage on my road bike attached with hose clamps. Works fine if your cage has a mount like that.

Rivnuts or similar in the seat tube the right distance apart for the bottle cage. Easy, quick, cheap and permanent, and they can be attached without need to use the tool.

I wanted to add a cage below my downtube to put a canister with my spare tube and tools into. The Velo Orange straps worked great. Decades ago all water bottle cages came with straps like that. But only some cages have a tab that the strap can clamp onto.

Hose clamps are ugly, but might be cheaper after you factor in shipping costs on an order for a $3 item.

I wouldn't recommend rivets unless you have a jig or the shop has a jig.
A jig is not required, but some intelligent use of a ruler and a Sharpie pen is.

A little late for your ride but I used this on a '73 Raleigh international. Works pretty well. Have to check once in awhile to ensure staying tight.
