flat/rolling SoCal centuries

Anyone know any good rookie centuries in the SoCal region between now and Christmas? I haven't done one in 10+ years and I'm about 50 lbs heavier nowadays.

Create one yourself. Arrange the route to pass by plenty of convenience stores and go for it.

The Amtrak Century on Sept. 9th would be perfect for you, but it's closed to new registrants AFAIK. I just did the Cool Breeze Century in Ventura, which had a LOT more climbing than the Amtrak will, and it was a lot of fun. Something called the Harvest Ride for Literacy is on Oct. 7, and follows what looks like a similar route to the Cool Breeze: www.harvestrideforliteracy.org

Good luck,

Bernie

i don't know about poway... if it's flat or not? it does have at least one hill at the beginning of the ride...

the new borrego century in january is flat (or at least the metric was)

tour de palm springs in feb is flat...

stagecoach is.... a strange century... it's like 1-2 percent out (and wicked headwinds last year) but then, of course, "down" and tail wind on the way back! it's in january!

Tour de Poway has a climb at the beginning, but nothing too much after that. It is on October 1. There is also what used to be called the Smog to Surf on October 14. (Riverside to Huntington Beach and back), which is very flat (it's called the Riverside to Surfside now)

It's about 50 miles from Dana Pt. to Torrey Pines so there's a round trip
