Bikes: Marin Muirwoods and a cheap steel road bike that I picked up for 20$ on craigslist and which is still in pieces

century on marin muirwoods hybrid with aero bars

A friend of mine has pretty much convinced me to try and train for the Taos century in september. I have seen lots of posts on here about people doing century on a hybrid, so I'm not too concerned about that. My problem is that I'd definitely need more hand position and I was thinking about getting some clip-on aerobars. I've been thinking about it for a while, but I've always been hesitant as I'm not sure if the geometry would jive well. The frame is compact at the back (I have trouble with some rear panniers), but relatively long at the front, so I'm not sure if I'd end up sitting in the wrong position or what not. Has anyone used a marin muirwoods frame (mine is a 2003 or 2004) with arerobars?

Thanks
