Tire choice for long ride

I'm planning on doing a crazy long ride with some members of the local mountain bike club. It will be about 300 miles total. 100 of it on singletrack and 200 on the road. I am planning on using my Cross Check because it's the only bike I have with gears, plus it is comfortable on long rides. I am wondering what tires to run. Most of the singletrack will be hardpacked dirt, so would 35mm semislicks sound like a good choice? I have 28mm Gatorskins, 32mm All Terrainasaurus, 35mm semislicks, and 44mm Mutanoraptors to choose from. Part of me wants to run the 44mm mutanoraptor up front just for the cushion, but it seems like I should run something a little smoother rolling.
