Weight of GIANT TCR Advanced 2 *2009*?

Can anyone tell me the total weight of this bike? I just bought this bike and still on order. I can't seem to find any info on the total weight of the 2009 version. I know the 08' weighs in about 16.8lbs but that's with a lighter t800 frame, lighter wheels (ksyriums), and Ultegra SL.

Thank you! I'm sure it's lighter than the Advanced 1. But I'm just curious. The 08' TCR Advanced 2 is listed at 16.8 lbs. but that's with Ksyrium wheels and Ulterga SL's. Looking forward to getting those digits. Again thanks!

arrrgggg...today was completely insane at work and couldnt weigh it, ill be back in mon or tues and can do it then. sorry about that. One thing i can tell you is we have an 08 tcr adv.2 with sl and the 09 advanced we have is regular ultegra and it still feels a good bit lighter. More important than weight is it feels a good bit stiffer than the 08 and looks ALOT sexier imo

sorry again, if someone else doesnt chime in ill get it for you after the weekend

NP man! It's good to get reliable feedbacks. Btw just to make sure we on the same page what color is the tcr advanced 2 09' you folks have at the shop? The one I got is the black and team blue colors.

http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-GB/...ad/2421/32349/

weird GIANT U.S. website does not have the 09's up yet.

ours was either their M/L or L frame size, i forget but it came out to 16.6 lbs w/o pedals which is a decent improvement considering it has a much more massive down tube/bb and standard ultegra not their sl

let us know how she rides on a real ride, ive only got to play around on it a small bit and with platforms so i didnt get a feel for how nice it really is.

Holy cow that's a lot lighter than what I expected. And a good thing. I'm not much of a weight weenie but it'll be a compliment on those hill repeats.

but pedals, cages, computer etc adds up as well. thank for checking.

I'll drop a personal review as soon as i get a chance to race that machine. with the season coming to a close i might be forced to egg people on at charity rides.

Imo giant tcr advanced 2 2009

IMO GIANT TCR ADVANCED 2 2009

I just got this bike about a week ago at The Bike Rack (team I ride for) and ever since I ordered it I've wondered about the overall weight of this machine. Thanks to Nubcake, I was able to get an idea of the weight before I got the bike. Now I have it and put some miles on it, my thoughts and feeling of the bike are very similar to what Giant claims to how this bike will perform.

FYI compared to: My old bike Cannondale Synapse 2 with 105 front and Ultegra rear.
(not a race bike but raced with it) So a big jump and contrast.

GIANT TCR ADVANCED 2 2009

The Look!:
Sharp angles, aerodynamic features and great placement of decals. Looks like a race bike! Massive down tube, bottom bracket and head tube gives it solid characteristics. This bike looks really good in person than it did online. I have not seen a bike with features similar to this one. Trapezoid top tube give it a space like look.

The Build:
Full Ultegra groupset. Aksium wheels. Michelin Pro race tires. Fiztik Arione Manganese Saddle.

Craftmanship:
Good quality and feels solid. Some minor imperfections on the frame as far as the outer shell goes. The seatstay has some super small curves that's only noticeable when fingers are rubbed across them.

The Ride:
Responsive, stable and stiff yet very lively. Every pedal stroke goes directly to forward momentum. Compared to my synapse this machine is snappier. Acceleration is instantaneous. I can only imagine it with a better wheel set. Taking turns are a lot faster and instills confidence. It feels like I'm riding on rails.

Assending:
Sitting: Steady & smooth
Standing: no squirly rear. very comfortable. Does not take much to crest those hills and rollers compared to my Synapse.

Descending:
Hoods:
stable and steady
Drops: comfortable and in complete control

Sprinting:
Really stable and felt very fast. Like I said before— Acceleration is instantaneous! I felt like I can push harder on this bike than my Synapse. (some of that could be the new bike syndrome)

Weight:
Size M:
16.4 lbs. w/o pedals
17.8 lbs. with pedals, x2 carbon cages, micro rocket pump, and saddle bag with tube, levers and co2 blaster

Overall:
I am really pleased with this bike and can't wait to see how it handles on road races (no crits for this bike). I really feel it's money well spent. I don't know if it's the massive decals thats getting all the attention on the road but it's definitely a looker. At first when seeing the pictures online of the massive decals I thought it was a bit much, but in person it really works with the enormous size of the down tube and other features of the frame and fork. Compared to my Cannondale Synapse there's no contest. But it's obvious due to components and frame geometry. Don't get me wrong I loved my Synapse it just did not have the edge of the TCR Advanced.
