Good campgrounds near The Deathride?

My goal is the Deathride 2009 near Markleeville CA. I plan to haul the family to the area and camp out the week before the event. I am just wondering if anyone with camping experience in the area had any recommendations? We have teen age boys and a dog. Hiking and swimming nearby would be excellent.

Can't help but notice you're right by a Grover Hot Springs state park. Hot springs seem like a good thing after the ride.
