Anyone else racing in the RAAM Challenger Series in Daytona this weekend?
Going to attempt my first 400 mile race, and hope to qualify for RAAM. Looks like the weather is going to be perfect.

You can scratch this one. I received an email from RAAM headquarters telling me the race has been cancelled.

Bummer!
The Sebring race is also a RAAM qualifier (I think you have to do 400 miles in 24 hours to qualify, though).

Yeah, I'll be going to Sebring in Feb, but I'll be riding in the 24 hour drafting category. For me to ride 400 miles in 24hrs non-drafting everything would have to go just right, and even then it would probably be close.

I doubt I could hit 400 miles in 24 hours, myself, drafting or not. I've toyed with the idea of going to Sebring, but that's a long ways to go to get indifferent results. I did recently get RAAM qualified on the Texas Time Trials 500-mile race, where you have 48 hours to do it, and don't know but what that's the easiest way to do so. It also has the advantage of not requiring support cars. In my case, the RAAM qualification is just for bragging rights, I have no intention of doing RAAM ever. It looks like they have one of the RAAM-Challenge races scheduled in south Texas in the spring, and the Heart of the South 500 more back in your direction, but both require support cars. Note that the Texas Time Trials takes place after the year's RAAM, so that'd be qualifying for 2013.
