The Raphas are also nice, also the top end Giordanas and Gores. There's a company called 'cytech' (I think that's how it's spelled) and they do a lot of the chamois for the upper range companies. Usually if you see these guys mentioned you're in for a good pair of shorts.
Of course, designs and bums do vary.

Everybody's different. What works for me likely won't work for you. Just get quality shorts with the thickest, heaviest lycra you can find.
Also, if you're going to wear bibs, it helps to wear a full-zip jersey. At 150km+, you'll likely need to drop the shorts at some point, which means you need to remove the jersey first, and with a full-zip jersey, you won't need to empty the pockets first. VERY convenient!
Plus on hot days, you don't wear a t-shirt under the jersey; the "bib" part of the jersey becomes a cool tank-top. Just don't crash, as you won't have that extra layer covering the shoulders.

i dont get it. dont wear a dryfit shirt on top of the bib shoulder straps you mean?
this is my first bib with shoulder straps. i dont have a proper summer jersey yet. I have alot of dry fit shirts thou. still wondering if i should spend the money to get a summer cycling jersey. i do have a proper winter jersey thou.
not wearing a shirt is gonna get me sunburn. i rather wear a shirt then to have oil sun tan lotion slapped all over me.

The great advantage of a real cycling jersey is that it has those useful pockets in back. Jerseys are also made of highly technical miracle fabrics that help keep you cool on hot days. But you can wear any shirt over the bibs if you prefer.

I used Pearl Izumi PRO In-R-Cool bib shorts for a 130-mile ride three weeks ago, and they were great.
No chafing (I don't use cream), and they stay put.

I use Castelli Body Paint bibs. They work great for me on double centuries. Note: I have had Pearl Izumi Pro's and they did not work as well for me. I also had a bad experience with their warranty guy so I will not buy that brand on principle. It really comes down to trying them out and finding the right one for you.

i havent gotten a chance to try out my Mille yet. it just arrived 2 days ago. i went for a quick ride today to train my father-in-law. figured that 40km@20km/h isnt gonna even require me to wear any cycling bibs. will update how the mille is like on the upcoming double century ride this weekend.
