Pelvic bone pain
I didn't see a better forum topic in which to post this question. I have a sudden onset of pain at left side, inferior pelvic bone where it contacts seat. I think I may have injured it two weeks ago during a mtn bike race; however I have no recollection of a particular event that could have caused injury. There were many technical obstacles on the course so it's possible I took a hard hit on the saddle as I jumped these obstacles. I became aware of the pain next day on the recovery ride and it isn't letting up. I have been mostly training on the mtb, but on a 30 mile road bike workout last night it was really sore. Both road and mtb have same saddle and saddle geometry setups as before to the race. Does anyone have experience with such pain? Any input on how to heal while continuing cycling? Advanced thanks for the feedback.
PS: I did crash during a mtb workout 3 weeks ago; however injuries were on right side. That said, however, I did have severe pain in right pelvis. I'm wondering if this pain is somehow related to that accident. Would a cracked pelvis feel like a bruising, bone pain?

Better forums ...
-- Training and Nutrition
-- Mountain Biking
This is the Long Distance forum.
And as for diagnosing injuries online ... we'd recommend visiting your local doctor. Get an X-ray.

Yeah, that's why I started with the "I can't find...." Thanks for the heads up on the other forums. As for your "see a doctor" reply, that was useless. I know all about doctors. I'll looking for people that may have similar experiences for the purposes of discussion. You know, forum for exchange of knowledge?!?!?!?!

And one more point, I ride and race both road and mtn bikes, with a preference for long distance road racing; hence the post in a road bike forum. It's good to know I have someone thinking for me (tongue in cheek).

I suspect injury. With an injury like that, I would guess that it will take longer to heal than you have given it. If you go to a doc, they will prescribe rest before they do anything rash

I have X-ray vision. Put your butt up to your monitor and I will tell you what I see.
I agree with the randomhead. What I'd do: Give it some time to heal - maybe take some time off the bike. If it doesnt start getting noticably better after a week to 10 days, then you may have some damage that a doctor or real x-ray will have to sort out / identify. I'd think that most soft tissue injury that will just simply heal / resolve itself without medical intervention will certainly start resolving itself in that 7-10 day time frame. Pain that persists beyond that is probably an indicator of a bigger problem.

Well motmcd... you're lucky that others in this forum have replied to you so kindly. I would not have been nearly so gracious toward you.
You posted in here asking for some pretty serious medical advice: Asking what a cracked pelvis feels like.
And when Machka tried to give you some very reasonable advice, you immediately got very snarky with her... someone who is a long-standing and valued contributor to this forum. That's not exactly a good way to make friends in here, son.
So you need to listen. If you have an injury or pain that isn't healing... especially one that is bad enough that you suspect that you cracked your pelvis... go see a doctor. Or don't. I'm finding it hard to find much sympathy for you right now.
