Randonneuring is an international sport, and has been for a long time. It started in France, spread through Europe, and then out to the Americas, Australia and other areas.

The BC Randonneurs has quite a good list of all the Randonneuring organisations: https://www.randonneurs.bc.ca/links/links.html , although it does appear that they do not have the India site yet. As I recall, someone who posted here in the LD forum was working on creating a club in India ... perhaps he was finally successful.

there were 11 riders from India that rode PBP. I think only one finished, but it was a pretty good time. The others had trouble with time management from what I read. It does seem like it will grow there

I noticed Mark Thomas was just doing a 1200k in Korea, and did one in New Zealand. So rides are out there.

Yes, I'd like to see ACP maybe offering a medal to those who have completed a brevet in each of the five continents in their lifetimes (North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia - maybe add Aus/NZ & make it 6 continents?). Sort of like in cross-country skiing, where you race about 12 loppets in all corners of the world during your life and get a special award. As if I needed any more motivation to travel with my bike!

Well, two continents so far!

Luis

I believe there is such an award or there used to be one anyway.

Do you mean the International Super Randonneur award? Yes, it still exists.

I hold a 4x1200K in 3 Continents designation of that award, which is the highest designation so far.

Not quite. Mark Thomas of RUSA did a 1200 in Japan a couple of years ago and got a 4C 1200 ISR.
