Good question. I think we were team Two-can this year.

Well thanks, that was my tenth 508 finish (twelfth race). I love racing through the desert. It never gets old! I've done the four and two tandem classes and I really enjoy doing it on the tandem as well. Haven't tried solo tandem yet. Maybe next year? Hope to see you back again.

Except it looks like there were four of you! That's my excuse for refusing to do it solo-- if I kept the totem I'd have to be "half a pair o' ducks" and it wouldn't fit on the van.

Congrats on a good finish!

Yep, there were four of us. We were using my friends Totem. We originally came up with that when we raced tandems (thus two-can ). I have three other totems as well. It was a mixed race for us. Speed wise we were pretty far off our usual pace. I had knee surgery earlier this year and I'm fat and out of shape so we where just out having fun. To be honest, I'm not a great fan of the format for teams that Kostman now uses. I guess I'm spoiled having raced it the original way with free rider changes.

Hey, I saw that report ... somewhere already. Oh, yeah, I saw it on Nancy's blog.

For more rando blogs, if you haven't seen it before, try my friend Andy's creation: RUSA Blogs.
The blog is simply a list of "mostly rando blogs" and NOT an official RUSA publication.

Nancy's blog is almost certainly the most photo oriented of the blogs on "RUSA Blogs"; every post a photo journey of the interesting scenery along the route.

My blog is likely at the other end of the spectrum: i.e., the least photo oriented. I do ride through some good scenery on some decent roads (proof); but I don't carry a camera. And, I have to admit, the scenery around here is significantly different than the SCENERY that Nancy usually rides through; but, after all, there is a whole continent between our locations.

Why is it, that when I saw Homey write that he's fat and out-of-shape, that I immediately thought "yeah, just like when [my rando friend] Tim says he has no legs." I'll take Tim's "no legs" any day. I'll take Homey's "fat and out of shape" pace any day.
