I have a Fi'zik Aliante saddle for several years, and at least 20k on it.
Recently I bought a bike that came with a Fi'zik Aliante saddle. This saddle, on the sit bone area feels much stiffer;
that is, it does not compress as much as the older one.
Would this difference be because the old saddle has many more klm on it, or the new saddle was made stiffer.

Any ideas are appreciated.

They did make several different models of the Aliante. The carbon ones certainly rode better than the cheap ones.

Also heard someone claim they finally broke an Aliante in and it was now very comfortable, another guy went over and pointed out it was because the shell and rails were cracked and that's why it was so soft now.

My own experience was similar. I bought one after riding a bike fitted with one and I thought it felt great. The one I got was not full carbon but had the cutouts in the sit bone area, just didn't feel as good though.

Anyway I would look into what specific models you have, they can vary quite a bit it seems

The soft one is black. There are no model marks, and the new one white which is Aliante δ. None have cutouts, and both have the same dimensions.
The Aliante δ is stiffer everywhere on the surface compared to the older Aliante. I doubt that the saddle would get soft on the whole surface just by riding.
So it seems that the Aliante δ is made stiffer.

I also doubt that there would be much of a "breaking in" process for these saddles. They need something to differentiate the expensive saddles from the cheap ones.
