I predict that if she keeps going like that, nobody else is ever going to even start the women's record attempt.

But you're right, it's going to take the wind out of many a sail for the overall record if she continues as she going.

Gee, what's the point?
Go round and round the same loop in the same park for an entire year, or darn close enough to it...for what...a record. You might as well go rent out a velodrome for a year and ride it. 100,000 miles in one year, why not. 20 mph for 13.75 hours per day for 365 days = 100,375 miles in one year.
Instead try for a truly inspiring challenge, USACA 365, the ultimate ultra endurance cycling challenge. You get something for it other than just a stupid record...actually you'll get HAMR as well since it would require riding between 85-100,000 miles in year with probably at least 3 million feet of climbing and probably closer to 5-7 million feet of climbing. Instead of seeing just one park all year long, oh excuse me 2 parks and the thumb of Wisconsin, you'll see the entire United States of America or you won't ever get USACA 365. Something for your hard work effort you put out for the year.
Don't bother searching for it online you wont find it. I came up with the idea as a direct result of thinking about how I would attempt HAMR back late in 2014.
Yes, while most of the rules were in place back by late 2014 I did some rather big updates to the rules at the beginning of this year thanks to the method of riding HAMR that Kurt and Steve did, and Amanda is doing now. All changes have been made to make it harder and more importantly fairer to attempt by everyone. HAMR is pathetic...granted according the lax rules its all legit...even the velodrome. Gee, just get a special design to get rid of the high g curves and have it designed so the standard speed is 20-25 mph not in the 30-40+ mph range and you got yourself and easy ride for the year without the worry of the weather, climbing, traffic, etc. Why do HAMR on the open road or in a city/state park, just do it in a velodrome and be done with it.
Why have a challenge if everyone and their brother can do it.

@bikenh, why don't go out and ride your challenge then, instead of belittling others' amazing feats of endurance ("everyone and their brother can do it")? Riding 300+ km every day for a year is no walk in the park, whichever way you do it. My hat off to Amanda and Kurt and Steve. Good luck, Amanda!

I would assume his ride in over a fairly flat course . Is he riding the same route most of the time, over and over again ? Good luck to him .
