Vance, what kind of BB are you running in yours? I had the PF30 (BB30) to English adapter in my prior bike and it seemed to work very well with my Ultra-Torque cranks.

I swapped out my 12/30 to the 12/27. Hopefully, the 12/30 will be my Mount Ventoux cassette.

I hate it when work interferes with riding. Which means I'd normally be truly pissed right now, but a big work effort has coincided with the injury: silver lining.

Work pays for the riding, so it's a necessary evil until I retire. The second 18 hour day went about as well as could be expected. Four hardware failures on older servers, that's par for the course. No major lingering issues. Back on the trainer today, then the Daytona 500, replacing the kitchen faucet, and a nap.

Hardware failures suck, especially at the wrong time. A few weeks ago, one of our local servers crashed, during a backup. Took IT days to restore files, and in true Murphy's Law fashion, I had just consolidated some test data onto the server from my desktop, trying to be all policy-conforming and ultra protective of my data, given desktops aren't backed up. Some files I maintain on my desktop, for performance reasons (MS Access can be a dog over the LAN). Of course, my test data hadn't been backed up, yet, when the server crashed. Buh-bye, data. Fortunately, it was re-doable. In my current job, I bridge the gap between IT and Finance, and do a heck of a lot of testing. Current project is the sale of a big part of the company. Won't be much left - my job will end June 1 and I'll go back to consulting.

Anyone use Golden Cheetah and know if it's possible to get average power for a section of a ride?

AZT, this was the final phase of a datacenter move to a co-location facility. We are a software development company, so this was the heart and soul of the business. I spent hundreds of hours of planning before these three 18 hour days.

TomG, yes, and yes. Press the lap button on your Garmin to create a new lap and Golden Cheetah will give you power statistics for that lap.

I bet you did. I've (with help) put together a significant co-location based center before... there is a lot to it. :)

So, I signed up for twitter, and followed a few biking related magazines, and this weekend has been an interesting. Tweets from NAHBS have been kinda fun (or kinda out there)...

This will be my third Noah, I've had an 08 an 09 now this one. Bike will be for crits and most RR's since it's nearly always windy somewhat flat. I'll be taking it to Joe Martin this year as well.

Thanks, but do you know if its possible without creating laps? I know you can zoom in on 'segments' with those sliders in 'RidePlot' but it doesn't seem to give data for those selected sections alone?? For example, I was racing at the weekend and I want to compare average power between one climb and another - I didn't set laps in the heat of competition.

You can select intervals on the Ride page. But you have to be able to identify the interval based on the data. It's usually not too hard with climbs.
Select from the left using the left mouse button and drag to the right to get the interval. (I think that's it, I'm not in front of my computer with GC on it).
An interval named "selection #1" will appear in the interval list. You can rename it if you need to. It helps to zoom in first so you can select more accurately.

Some day I would like to be able to select intervals from the map.

I like my Look 566, but I'm getting to where I'm hating racing it. My whole upper body is up acting like a barn door because of the high head tube on that thing. I'm just complaining, because there is no solution in sight because of financial constraints. I'm just saying I'm becoming very aware that that frame sucks for racing!

I believe that only works for version 3. I use version 2 since it has a performance manager. When I want specific interval information, I load the ride into version 3.

Sara - Any reason you have to race it rather than the Bianchi? If it's because that's the one the PT is on, shoot, that's a pretty good reason. :)
