Here is my wife in a motor game at VSC during a Roger's Session. Keep in mind she has done two 24 minute interval sessions before the motor game. She was in a 90.6 and spun off at 132 rpm. I asked her why she quit early and she said she thought there were a lot more laps to go. She has the Fast Forward wheels and is behind the motor as the video starts. The smaller gear enabled her to close the gap when Jay W pulled off the motor in front of her with 4 to go and gapped her.

(also take advantage of my core conditioning :D, although setting a handfull of tip ups can be a workout) On smaller lakes the ice usually is not more than 6" -10" thick. On Lake Erie, sometimes when someone moves close and drills a noisy hole the fish shut off. It's really dumb on the big lake, there are miles of room and as soon as someone watches you gaff a walleye they come a running with the snow machines and get out the gas auger and set up close by. We haven't had any good ice for the past few years so I've not purchased any new stuff. My two flashers and a TV monitor do great in locating and catching fish. I was looking into an electric auger and may do so in retirement. |

Dewalt cordless drill that you hack into the battery and use a motorcycle battery something like: http://www.dual-litebatteries.com/12...A_Battery.html I usually have 4 tip ups and a jigging hole. If I have to move drillin another set of holes, or worse, a couple sets of holes really stinks. Amazing how when folks see you slinging fish on the ice they are all over your spot eh? Nothing better than a 5 gal bucket of yeller perch. :) |
I am looking at getting onto the ice this weekend and onto Lake Erie the following week. We used to get buckets of yellow perch but now with a 25 fish limit it takes jumbos just to fill the bottom of the bucket. I have filled up a bucket with 5 walleye at times but try to put the hogs back and keep the better tasting 22" -25" fish.
The software for the PT I use is Power Agent. I just right click the screen and save the file then upload it later to Photo Shop. |
Did the practice crit last night, both the B and A. Skills are coming back; strength has a ways to go, as I couldn't hold the A group even though I was sheltering as much as possible. Key on this course is the rise each lap on the front straight - you need to be able to do it repeatedly no matter how hard the pace is pushed. First sanctioned race is on the same course this Sunday. I'm racing 60+, and then a 2-3-4, back-to-back. Total time for both will be only an hour. 60+ is the focus. I intend to conserve as much as possible, but read the race and follow breaks that might survive, ****ly without helping. ;)

First set of Plyos yesterday, interspersed with 10-second all-out sprints. Yeah, that made my legs tired!

3x20 minute session last night on the trainer / rollers. My legs are trashed this AM and I have leg plyometrics tonight.

Go see the neurologist in a few hours. Things haven't been right in my lower half for a while now. Bunch of annoying symptoms none of which are adding any wattage.

My coach shortened my recovery week from seven days to five. She's concerned that I might be coming into form too soon, and apparently increasing my CTL can help push it back - my interpretation, when we spoke today I didn't have time to ask the rationale behind it. Another hard 100 miles Saturday instead of the easier two hours originally planned. I'm okay with it, since Rouge-Roubaix is 105 hard miles. I so badly want to schwack that white whale of mine.
