stupid stupid stupid.

I'm confused, what does Ridley have against Cyclocross?

Hope you mend quickly. :thumb:

Zipp bars are snapped off on the left side. Otherwise the bike looks ok. Have a spare set in the same bend, these were the stiffer layup and are getting hard to find since they shelved the deepest drop. FSA makes a similar bend, just not as nice a bar.

Finding all the "next day" nicks. Ankle and hip are complaining a bit. Couldn't have been going more than 3 mph and had on "street clothes" so zero road rash. Essentially fell off a three foot ladder.

Poor dog was totally confused when I hit the ground. Expression was pretty much "why are you down here?"

shovelhd 01-04-15 11:45 AM

Oh man. Look at it this way. You didn't want to do that cross race anyway. Ridley is fine, and you got your 2015 bad Karma out of the way.

gsteinb 01-04-15 11:58 AM

gees.

Cleave 01-04-15 05:23 PM

@Racer Ex Oy! Your knee definitely does not look happy. :( Not sure what the strange growth is on your legs. ;) Get well. Need to see as many friendly faces as possible in the field in Phoenix.

Cleave 01-04-15 05:27 PM

@valygrl, I agree about riding in 40F weather is much better than riding a trainer. I've been wearing three pairs of corduroys the past week and a half in SoCal as every ride (except at the velodrome) has started in either the high 30s or low 40s. Saw that some people decided on trainer workouts instead of riding outside. Wimps. :)

Cleave 01-04-15 05:52 PM

525 miles and a lot of TSS from Dec 23rd through today (Jan 4th). Two days off the bike during that stretch and definitely tired today. Will be off the bike tomorrow through Friday due to a business trip. Hope to feel relatively fresh for a 20 Km TT on Sunday, Jan 11th. A couple or three crits the following week (Jan 18th). Looking at a 42 mile road race on Jan 24th. Racing season starts too early out here. Unfortunately (as I'd rather start racing at the end of February), I need the race miles to prepare for Valley of the Sun Stage Race during Valentine's Day weekend.

Tells you how the training has been going...

(Shaking my head). Crap! I hope that the effects don't linger.

sarals 01-05-15 10:14 AM

Still clearing the mung from my legs from almost two weeks of no intensity due to 1) a chest cold, and 2) three days off the bike for a short vacation. Yesterday I did two different sets of intervals, 5 x 1 minute and 3 x 5 minutes (40 minutes total for both, ride was 70 minutes) and DID IT. Hit all the numbers, and started to feel pretty good (again). That almost effortless power that I had two weeks ago isn't there, although I was able to sit considerably above LTHR and still make power. My first crit is next Sunday (Early Bird #2 ), it's just a training race, but still, I want to be able to race and not just hang on!

IBOHUNT 01-05-15 11:32 AM

@Racer Ex heal quick

IBOHUNT 01-05-15 12:42 PM

Spent 2 hours on the trainer Saturday and another 2 on Sunday. Last 7 days TSS = 593

Off to the tattoo shop to get my "on your right" calf ink.

LAJ 01-05-15 12:48 PM

No good Racer Ex! I hope the aches and pains go away soon.

LAJ 01-05-15 12:51 PM

Race well Sara. You'll do fine.

LAJ 01-05-15 12:52 PM

I'm very jealous, valygrl.

I've been in the garage with a radiant heater shined on my feet so my feet don't freeze.

AzTallRider 01-05-15 07:06 PM

Yowza, Ex. Between you and AJ, no dog is safe!

IBOHUNT 01-06-15 07:11 PM

4 - 9 min intervals at 95% with 9 min in between then some whatevering

Thanks folks. Appreciate the positive thoughts.

Got out for 30m today. Rode the MTB, low gears and everything else is either apart, broken, or hard on the knees. Not great, not horrible. Going to impact the small window to get ready for VOS.

Last buncha years have been cobbling things together to scrape out something of note.

What are folks doing in April...?

Hook up with Cleave. I'm thinking he will have some spare time; he doesn't race much :roflmao2:Only what seems like every other day. :twitchy:

IBOHUNT 01-08-15 10:16 AM

20 min Z2 followed by a 3x10 @ 95% with 5 min RBI then another 20 min of Z2.

Knackered after two days of effort.

Getting back into the groove, albeit by fits and starts. Most of my rides in the last month or so have been Z2/3, just starting to get back into intervals. Bright spots have been a couple of bests in the past year according to the PMC; 30 second best power bridging up to a friend last Sunday, and 30 minute best power during a 41 minute threshold interval yesterday. So, I ain't dead yet. :) Threshold and muscle tension intervals tomorrow. Team ride Saturday with temps with wind chill in the low-to-mid 20s, in south effin' Louisiana. Ten degrees warmer Sunday with 50% chance of rain. @shovelhd would feel right at home.

Getting fitted to the new Allez and the TT bike next week some time. I'm looking forward to working with the TT bike; it seems that what meager talent I have is in that direction. My first TT this year is February 28, 20km. The same day will be my first crit on the new Allez.

shovelhd 01-08-15 09:51 PM

It was -7* this morning. Not wind chill.
