Whether you shot a race video, used a cam on the bike during a race or just really like a race video, this is the place to share it.

New Zealand team pursuit practice in Switzerland. Check out the cadence and the line around the 200 meter track.

Here is a video made by MTV with mentors Fast Track Coaching. I attended their clinics when they were in the US. The track looks similar to the new Cleveland Track. Hopefully, others can see the video since the only place I can find it is on FaceBook.

Not a race, and not cool, but it's a video! Roger's session last week. We're only in the zone 2 portion of the interval, so pretty sedate.

VanceMac, forgive me, I'm not familiar with it - is that facility strictly a velodrome?

In theory. But they rent out the middle section to high school volleyball teams to help pay the bills. During the school year, there are always 4 or 5 vb courts in full effect during Roger's Sessions.

In addition to volleyball, they use the court for basketball and both ends have gym equipment. I believe that there are gym memberships sold.

My favorite event that may go on simultaneously with the LAVRA time trials is the Chiva Girl Cheerleading tryouts. Approximately, 50 young women dressed in their dance outfits (hardly any clothes) audition for 5 to 10 cheerleading spots for the Chiva men's pro soccer team.

The end of last night's points race. At 10 seconds in, I go off the front... it didn't last. I would have liked a bigger gear, but it wouldn't have lasted solo, anyway.

Nice effort. Is it track etiquette is to slide outside when being caught/passed, or is that a tactical decision? Looked pretty darned polite of you by crit standards.

Ha, "tactical decision"... YOU are being polite. It actually was conscious decision -- I was cooked (was hoping someone went with me), and needed to recover at the back. If I hadn't been completely fried, you would normally hold your position at the black line and let others come around you.

Going up track gains elevation even though you are traveling farther. If one stays in the pole lane, racers pass without a gap and no one will let you in. You go to the end of an accelerating line. Also, from the top, you can see gaps, if any, to reenter the line and use the banking to accelerate to match speed while conserving energy.

Thanks - Saw some of that in the vid, including a false start at jumping in, followed by a successful one by the same guy. Looked like someone eased very slightly to accommodate him the 2nd time after shutting him out the first try.

Looks like fun. Not sure I can handle any more bike fun. I already avoid mountain bikes and fixies just in case I might like those. I better not try track.

Well, nothing to tempt you too much yet. The Tucson velodrome initiative kept cropping up, but never reached critical mass. Has there been any buzz at all in PHX lately? I'm biased, but it sure seems like an ideal location for one.

A friend that I ride with in the offseason and see at the races is a three event Masters National Champion on the track. Things went bad during the sprint event where she broke her cleat in the jump. She said her injuries are minor.

Holy s**t, Shovel...that looked HORRIBLE. That girl is a rock star to come back from that and win the 500 meter TT just two days later! OMG....

Hi shovelhd, the moral of the story (her later victory) saves that video.

National Record 500m TT

Hi,

Here is a video of my former teammate (she now races for Exergy TWENTY12) when she won the Junior Women 13-14 500m TT in 2009:

That's her mother screaming in the background. Her national record still stands. She heading to New Zealand this year for Junior Worlds. She's now racing 17-18 but she doesn't turn 17 until later this year.

Tara won the Omnium at the Junior 17-18 Track Nationals this year. She has been selected to go to Junior Worlds. She races for Exergy 2012 which is Kristin Armstrong's team. If that is not enough, she is a terrific woman.
