Memorial Mountain Bike Ride for fallen Police Office in Harford County Maryland
https://www.littlegunpowder.com/amy.html
Baltimore County Police Officer Amy Caprio was killed in the line of duty last week while responding to a burglary call. She found one of the suspects in the getaway car and gave orders fro the driver to get out of the car. The 16 year old driver instead gunned the engine, drove over the officer, then backed over her to make sure she was down before driving off.
She was just short of her 4th anniversary on the police force and was preparing to celebrate her 30th birthday soon.
The funeral procession for Officer Caprio was 5 miles long with hundreds of police cars from every jurisdiction within 100 miles.
She lived with her husband in the Kingsville area, in adjacent Harford County. Her husband is an avid mountain bike rider and has organized a memorial ride for her wife this Sunday June 3rd.
It's not a charity event so much. (Though I'm sure donations to Officer Caprio's favorite charities would be welcome) It's just a memorial ride for anyone in the area to pay their respects by riding with her spouse.
