Trek 8.4 vs Giant Roam 1! Please help me decide!
Looking to purchase a really good hybrid bike for myself for under $650.00... Then I decided to go to Dual Sport or a Mountain bike but changing them to tires similar to the dual sport model 700c. I ride my current fixed gear Fuji Feather Road bike all over the city and the 5 boroughs but would like a hybrid since I have difficulty not having gears and obviously we all know how bad our road are in NYC.
I have done some research and found 3 bike manufactures Trek, Giant & ...the many others, that I would like to choose from however I am unsure of which model to choose from and what is best for its value, comfort level, all around ease of terrain and of course value.
I really am set on either getting a Trek 8.4 DS or the Giant Roam 1. I hear allot of great reviews and comparisons, threads regarding the trek 8.4 DS vs the Roam 2 not 1. Is the Roam 1 better?!! I'm lost! Please help

I purchased a Trek DS 8.4 in March. I Love it! Most of my rides are on the Roads but I do go off road. The DS is great for both. The Front forks lock out is a great feature. I have no joint in my right shoulder so the front forks saves me from pain. Even on the road if it gets rough I just turn the fork to suspension. I am very happy with My Trek DS 8.4.
