Race Idea!

My team mates and I were thinking at a bbq/award dinner for mountain biking when we started talking about mixing an eating contest with a loop style race. There would be an award for whoever ate the most burgers, hot dogs, etc. and whoever completed the most laps on a mountain bike. I think there could also be a cumulative award mixing the eating and racing together. We were thinking Hamburger humbug. Share any ideas you might have to add to this idea, any other unique race types would also be interesting.

My friends and I once downed about a half-dozen bratwurst each and then went MTBing. They were not feeling too well after the 10 mile loop. I at least held it down.

Well I like the idea. But that could be brutal eating and MTBing. The two just don't mix well. It does sound like a good time,

Why not try eating several hotdogs, go on a roller-coaster, then go MTBing and see who is able to keep their food down.

Now that's a challenge

in the SS champs here a couple of years ago there was an option to take a short cut on the course. the penalty for taking the short cut was to scull a schooner of beer!

We do that here for a year-ender, but it's not hotdogs, it's beer. Do a lap, chug a beer to get 2 minutes subtracted from your time, etc. I think we have to up the beer reward though, the winner always just sails through, of course he is the provinces premier XC racer...

Ever heard of the beer mile? Adapt it to biking.
