Mountain of Hell 2019 - hundreds of MTB's crash on glacier
https://ftw.usatoday.com/2019/07/hug...e-down-glacier
No injuries. Since these are amateur mountain bike racers, I suppose that means hundreds of unreported sprains and concussions. I'm not sure what to make of this. It's a glacier, after all, clearly not a high traction surface. Is this just to be expected sometimes? But it's also an obvious place for a crash that would block up the race. This is only the mass start. The full run of the race is some 32 minutes long and was won by Kilian Bron. |
He gets out of the snow about four or five minutes in and it's a MTB trail starting around 6 minutes. Can't watch it all tonight, have to save it here for tomorrow

This is the clip we should show to the aliens when they come to back our claim to superior intelligence.

 Wow! I've just watched a clip from this year's race, from a rider who started at the back.
I thought others might like to see it, too. It's not often you come across a mountain bike race down the Alps. |
Nothing like a good, tight funnel at the bottom of a snow-covered hill.

Blake from GCN did this on a hardtail
(Edit - dangit, zombie thread! Oh well cool videos) |
