Danka24,
I know you said you raced Dual and 4X, but have you ever tried any of the NEMBA XC race series (Legg Mason, etc.) here in NH while your here? I race a few of the XC series each year, and would be interested to find someone else on bikeforums who did the same races.

MTB Racing - what type for you?
I race XC (sport, 40+). However, I've been told there are other types of MTB racing.

i race XC (sport when i was in the US)
but the last 2 years since i've been in Europe i do what are called "marathons" here in Europe which are longer than XC races with MUCH more vertical - usually in the 1200-3000m vertical (4000-10,000ft vertical)... although there's one this summer in Switzerland that my friend wants me to do with him - it's 7000m vertical (that's 23,000 ft of vertical climbing!). the only down side to the marathons is that many are also less technical ---- for me the perfect race is: not too long (2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours) with tons of vertical (1200m++) with tons of technical stuff!!
these days, i kind of use racing as fun to keep me fit for my big tours! well, ok, i also like the competition too!

I race XC. First season was this spring, had a great time. I know I will be signing up for even more races next season. I'm hooked on it now!
