2003 24hr race dates
Post race dates here.
There are so many 24 hr races that it's hard to keep track of them. We're trying to get a team together to do a few races this summer, but everyone needs dates before they will commit. Anyone know any dates yet?

Here are the two 24 hour races in my area I am considering for this year. They are a bit out of the way for you, but if you really wanted to do one you could make it part of a bigger trip.
Here is the website of a brand-new 24 hour race this year. I have done XC races there (not 24 hr), and the terrain is OK, not super technical from what I have seen. July 20-21, 2003 Henniker, NH
https://www.patspeak.com/s_bike_lodg.htm
Here is the website for a race that me and my team have have been looking at doing. I have ridden the 24 hour course, just not as part of the 24 hr race. This race has been around for awhile and is well-known. Prizes are larger and the organization is better. Extremely technical terrain in some parts of the course. This is the one to participate in if you decide to come up here.
August 9-10, 2003 Glen, NH

Hope one of these looks interesting!

I will be doing the 24hours Of Adrenaline as well... the Massachusetts one on June 28/29. There is also another local 24 hour ride but the date is TBA. This will be my first race, ever. Starting with the big one!

good responces everyone
I'm currently looking at dates for next summer. The western US races, such as Tahoe look pretty good.

I will be on moabrider's team (actually my team) for the 24 hours @ Great Glen , and was wondering what sort of light set up does everybody use. We are thinking about Niterider's Trail Rat 2.0 because of its great value ($79-$100) and long burn time (2+ hours).

i am doing the national 24 hour challenge..https://www.N24HC.org
.. it's on June 14-15..just to see how i do.. i have only done a 12 hour endurance ride before.
then i am doing the running race first weekend of August here
https://www.canadiandeathrace.com 125km in the rockies 24 hours to finish
on the first weekend of sept. i will do the same route, but on a bike, they give a lot less time to finish
this race was featured on oln last summer and i don't relish running through waist deep(at times) water runnoff... but the bike race looks really fun.
at least on a bike you should be able to get away from the grizzlies

24hr race in Olympiypark in Munich Germany:
https://www.sog-sport.de/24/f_24.htm
July 5th and 6th
i'll probably be riding a 2 or 4-man team with my bike club.
i've never done a 24-hr race... i was hoping i could get 2 batteries and charge one while i ride, but i read in the info that you are not allowed to charge batteries in the staging area... so i figure i need just over 8 hours worth of lighting... and my 20W light lasts about 2:15... i could change the bulb to 10W and borrow my friend's battery which would get me to almost 8 hours... other than the obvious of buying extra batteries anyone got any ideas on lighting? since you "learn" the course pretty well during the day (race starts at 1pm) seems like you can get away with less lighting power, so 10W or maybe? even 5W??
or do you need more like 12 hours worth of battery or extra bulbs in case something breaks??

How about a grass root effort that promises to be top shelf?!
The oklahoma earthbike fellowship presents Oklahoma's first ever 24 hour mountain bike race...
24 Hours Up The Nose
September 20-21, 2003 at Roman Nose State Park, Watonga, Oklahoma
At just $75 per racer, you can't beat it! Check it out...
upthenose.matesoft.net (site is still being a built but reg form is there).
This is 8 mile loop of some of the best single track in Oklahoma. Great terrain features, several tough climbs, plenty of prickly pear cacti (bring slime!), and scenic surroundings in the state park overlooking lake. 5 catagories, courtesy charging table, neutral mechanic on site likely, entertainment, prizes, swag, and cash payout to solo winners. For pictures of rides at this location, check out okearthbike.com.
Questions?
upthenose2003@yahoo.com
Thanks!

There will be one in
Spokane, Washington on May 24th-25th
More info here: https://www.roundandround.com/24Hr/24hour.htm
It says there that it's a qualifying event for the world solo championships, if that means anything. I haven't checked out the course but maybe I'll get a chance this week, if I can find a map of it.
