Dirt Spanker Classic in Duluth MN

Is anyone here riding in that? I'm going to enter, it'll be my first mtb race ever. I'm not in that great of shape though so it should be quite the learning experience...

No I go to College in Mankato though and I'll be up there for the weekend, I'm not in that great of shape and I've never raced before so I will probably get my butt kicked even in beginner's class but I figure it'll be a good, fun experience.

How tight are the rules about helmets? I don't really have a regular 'biking helmet' Mine is more like a BMX/skateboarding type helmet, will they let me wear this or should I stop at walmart or something and pick up a regular one?
