XC practice? Hmmmmm I dont think I have ever heard of xc practice. Before a race usually I umm, am really tired and I eat maybe a energy bar. And of course I place top 3 after everything is over.

I usually eat a light meal about 3 hrs prior to a race. Then a Powerbar or something maybe an hour prior. Then I get on my bike 45 minutes or so prior to the race and ride at an easy pace for 20-30 minutes, then do 10-15 minutes of quick sprints to get my heart rate to approach LT to get that energy system working, then easy pedaling for a few minutes. Sometimes I throw in 5 minutes of stretching. I fully hydrate the day before and the day of and stop drinking except for little sips 30 minues prior. Then I line up and kick ass.
