NW Cup, Mt Hood.
I'm thinking about going down there to get some pics of the event. What's it like down there compared to PA if you can compare them? Will there be big name riders like in PA? More vendors? Better parking?

I haven't been to an event there yet; but from everything I've heard and seen, SkiBowl is a great venue. Probably no big name pros at that one - - they'll have moved on to WC, GES and other ProGRT races. PA was special because it was West Coast just the weekend after Sea Otter and no schedule conflicts; made it easy for a lot of the factory teams to show up.
Parking situation should be much better since it's a ski resort. I did hear that they limit you a bit all the same: you can camp in the parking lot but you can only take up a vehicle-width (tent/vehicle have to be in line). That's just from what I heard last weekend.
Also, the first SkiBowl race of the season is supposed to not be as good of a course because there's still too much snow higher up, so it can't go from the top on the more demanding trails. Bear in mind, this is all from stuff I have heard and read over the years, not first-hand experience. Your best bet is to check over on RM, both on the Downhill forum and the PNW - - or even PM Scott (ods) over there and ask him.
