Dual Slalom races

Need a little guidance here. I am 73 and have done a couple of XC Mtb races with a Marin 26" Mtb. I am thinking of entering a Dual Slalom race which I have never done before. My question is if the Marin 26" is a suitable bike to use and would I be getting in over my head. Don't worry I can handle the truth. :-)

I didn't even know they still raced slalom. Moved this from the old folks home (leaving a redirect).

Thanks gsteinb, if your interested, go to USAcycling.com, click on events, click on MD, enter mountain, upcoming events, all events and click search. You should see Gravity fall slalom races.

I don't understand where this was moved to!!

C'mon guys it's been over a week and 1 week to ago. I really could use some tips. I have researched some stuff, but it does not take the place of riders that have done it. Thanks in advance.
