longer midwest races

Looking for best midwest races: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana.

I am familiar with the Fat 40, as well as Wisconsin WORS.

Looking for possibly longer races of 30+ miles, and NOT technical but more cross country.

Thanks for any information.

Ore to Shore.

Iceman Cometh.

Cross country can be technical, FYI.

Brown County Epic has a 50 and 100 mile options. Wisconsin has a few races. Wisconsin Endurance Mountain Bike Series | WEMSeries for short

In Southern Michigan there are several XC and Marathon length races of 30+. Check MMBA, Tailwinds and Fun Promotions.

Here is a link to a big list of longer races and rides.

Thank you drider85, your link was really useful.

Is endurance Mountain Biking gaining popularity? Just curious.

I think it is. I wouldn't say it is exploding in popularity however there is a growing contingent of people that like long race. The market has been expanding to meet that need. I only have experience in Michigan. Here we have an endurance series (6/12hr), 3x 100 mile races and ~6 Marathon (30-50 mile) races. It has grown over the last 5 years quite quickly. I hear of more people traveling to NUE races as well.

Duke of Kent,

Have you done the Ore to Shore? If so, how was it? Thanks for any info (trying to plan out summer rides).

Several people on my team have done it. Average speed for the winner was 18.6. Mountain guys say it is open and fast with some sand. Roadies say it is fast rough and lots of sand. Atmosphere is top notch. I have been riding up there and if you have more time the riding in Marquette is awesome.
