Front Fork Upgrade
Hello Everyone!
I am new to Mountain Biking and bought myself a used 2007 Mongoose Amasa Comp (2007 Mongoose Amasa Comp - BikePedia) for $75! I put new Continental Roadkings on at and road some hills. Overall, it road very well, but the front suspension seemed "clunky." The bolt to adjust the tightness is gone and the suspension looks in pretty bad shape. I would like to "upgrade" or replace the suspension for under $200. Any recommendations would be appreciated! THANKS! |
Which tire did you install, is it a Race King?
Are you riding on pavement or trails? |
In your price range you could score a RockShox XC32. A decently durable fork that will handle everything the Mongoose itself can handle.

I meant I put MOUNTAIN KINGS on there. This will be used for "light" mountain biking.
I ended up ordering a 2015 SR Suntour XCR Bike For (120mm 26" 1 1/8 Remote Lockout 32mm White) for $110 shipped and I am currently having it installed at a LBS. I will put a picture up when I get it back and give a report on the performance! |
Correction, I put trail kings on the bike: Continental Trail King Tire - 26 x 2.2 - REI.com
