Thoughts on hardtails/XC. KHS GIANT Breezer Fuji

So I have access to those brands at less than dealer cost.

Im leaning twords a hardtail because Im not racing, I prefer the simplicity of the Hardtail. Im doing this for fun/exercise and I really prefer fast trails over technical.

So I mainly want to know if you anyone either own or has any thoughts on the 15" KHS sixfifty 700.
SixFifty 700 - KHS Bicycles

I like the sram 1x11 setup, any bike I buy I would do a single set up on. I would prefer a steel bike and I was considering building a 29er baser around the ritchey p-29 or the breezer steel lighting (which they dont make anymore :/)

For Fuji I was looking at the tahoe 1.1 but they downgraded it this year from XT to slx and switched the fox fork out.

If I felt comfortable on a carbon I would probably just go for the Giant XTC ADV 29er 1. But I want metal and I do not feel like paying the extra couple hundered for the frame and the fox is comparable to the manitou.. sorta

Other option from giant is the Athem SX 27.5 but thats more expensive and its a very solid bike one of my favorites in the giant line up. But Im just not fully sold on the soft tail...

Finally Im so fed up with the 27.5/ 29er debate. I hear it all the time and I am 6""1 and I find that guys my height prefer the 29er. But whatever.. I also know am equal amount that have no problem with the 27.5.....

I more than likely will go with the KHS I know the wheels are sort of heavy and I believe they do not have a thruaxel in the rear but it cant have everything. The brakes are fine, I would prefer SLX but I can always upgrade.. I just want some affirmation since I cat seem to find any reviews on the KHS..

Jamis Dragon
27.5 inch steel
Kona Honzo
29in steel

Both of those are 120mm travel hard tails though so bit more trail than XC but they do look like fun bikes.

Transition TransAm. Steel. 27.5 or 29. Best small bike company in the whole world, hands down.

Ok.... My budget is about 1600 max....Yes that kona honzo look like an awesome bike, little weak on the components and that transition is a really interesting bike. But I do not have access to any of those bikes at below dealer cost.
