What's your opinion on the Specialized Rockhopper 29?

I ordered a hybrid, the store owner calls me and tells me that it's out of stock for 2 weeks and that if I wanted to take until that time to make sure a hybrid is what I want then I can, or I can leave it as is and that the hybrid will be in the store for me in 2 weeks. It's already paid for. I just keep thinking about a mtn bike though. He told me that I can get the above mtn bike and switch the tires when I want to ride on the road. I didn't even realize that I could do that or I may have ordered one instead of the hybrid. What tires would you recommend for some road biking if I got this mtn bike?

I'd really like opinions on this specific bike though. I'm at a crossroads on what to do. I'll be honest, I've never been mountain biking. I've been on trails and on the road but not true mountain biking. I've always been adventurous at heart. I've been bungee jumping, parasailing, cliffdiving, and jumped out of a plane so doing these kinds of things gives me a thrill I love, and that's why I think I'd really enjoy mtn biking.
