Fox to change shocks/forks?

I'm currently in the market for a new mountain bike, and both of the bikes on my shortlist have Fox float shocks with the CTD damping.

But according to this article, Fox is dropping CTD next year and expanding the FIT damper to the entire range of shocks.

It seems like I'm constantly buying stuff that gets a huge upgrade the following year, and since I keep bikes for a long time, I don't want that to happen with this. But it seems logical that if Fox is upgrading their forks, any new bikes using the old CTD forks will get the new forks next year, no?

Thoughts?

I can't speak for how fast the oem's will spec the new 2016 shocks and forks, but I'm waiting for the new 34 fork to be released rather than picking up the current 2015 fork. The reviews are pretty solid for the current 36 and that tech trickling down to the rest of the range for 2016 models is worth the wait IMO.

I might call my LBS tomorrow and see if they can find out anything from Trek. Hope it won't take too long for that stuff to make it to the bikes. I'm willing to wait a year, but not two. I wanna freaking ride.
