Anyone know a reliable website that sells 2004 Fox Vanilla 130 R/RLC fork?
It's either that or when I get the new fork it'd have to be an MX Comp ETA and I'd much prefer the Fox.
Thanks in advance,

Thanks Raiyn, pricepoint and jensonusa are reliable right? Apart from that, the reason I'm asking for 2004 models is that they have v-brake bosses. However I look at it I dislike my fork much more than my brakes. (sure, my fingers did get cramped on a very long descent but I still feel fork being more important)

I've ordered from Price Point a lot more than I have from Jenson I always get a better deal and at the very least comparable service from PP than any other company I've ordered through

That's true, only thing is, the shipping rates are very different - JensonUSA would ship a fork to spain for fortysomething dollars while PP's shipping rates put the shipping above 80 dollars. (as far as I can remember)

You must do what is best for you. Jenson isn't a bad company and if I remember right they also price match. Milk it

They just pricematched the Vanilla 130 RLC and brought it down by 50 dollars. Only problem is, they still don't sell 2004 models.
By the way, you wouldn't believe this, my LBS has the Vanilla 130 R for 900 euros.... It's crazy, I mean I know things are more expensive here in Europe but by 500 euros...?!

Oh yeah, that was another question I wanted to ask: Say I order a Fox Vanilla 130 RLC, 440 dollars + 40 dollars shipping, does anything happens when the fork is brought into the country? (customs or duties or whatever it's called, do you have to pay extra?)

Thanks for all your help.

Look at the picture of the fork! It has v-brake bosses... weird, at jensonUSA and pricepoint they don't.

EDIT: Perhaps they posted an '04 version picture?

Thats a fairly expensive not to mention long travel fork to go on the HR. Are you sure you want to do this?

I'm thinking still, no worries. Dirtbike had a Z1 on his HR and said it was OK... and the good thing bout the Vanilla is that it's internally convertible to 100mm in case I really don't like the 130mm mode. I'd prefer it to be 100-120mm but oh well.
I mean, 3 cm extra height at the front shouldn't be too big of a change, right?

On a bike? Yes.

Besides, didnt you just buy your HR? Perhaps you should ride it as is until your current one breaks or until you actually need a longer travel fork.

****, I rode my RST Capa for 2 years and it served its purpose just fine. Now that Im riding more FR, I need a better fork with more than 80mm of travel.

There was no Vanilla 130 in 2004. It was a Vanilla 125 in 2004. It was increased to 130 for 2005.

I have a 2004 Vanilla 125R.

Thanks for all your help.
In Canada you do have to pay duties. A lot of horror stories where people have had to pay $80 in duties for $60 worth of merchandise. As far as Spain goes, I wouldn't know, but in Canada if a package is worth over $15 or so, and it isn't a gift, you're supposed to have to pay our required 15% tax on top of an additional "Brokerage fee" that some shipping companies charge. This brokerage fee is sometimes astronomical especially if using FedEx.

Also, as far as the prices at a LBS are concerned, that's probably a combination of different market space (Europe as opposed to America) and the fact that the overhead costs to run an LBS are higher than a website's. All of my LBS's have prices like that for forks too, but I have yet to see a Canadian website that really has low prices on forks.

For Canada at least, it's really not worth it to buy things from the states and then import them back.

Alright, thanks, that's valuable info. I'll try and investigate to see how much duties you have to pay in Spain (I doubt you don't have to )

Still, alot could change in 3 to 4 months. What are you going to do if a 130mm fork puts too much stress on your headtube and either ovalizes it or cracks it? There goes your expensive fork and your new bike. Ask your LBS first before you do something drastic like this.

Obviously I'll ask loads of questions before doing anything like that, I'm that sort of person. Not sure if 130mm is too much stress but Denise at the LBS said the MX Comp ETA with 120mm should be OK. I'll do some research, cause there's no way in hell I'm going to risk busting my frame just by having a too long travel fork. We'll see, this is still in very early stages of planning.
