Merida or Specialized?
 

Hello.
I want to buy one of these bikes.
The first is:Merida big 7 300,and the second is Specialized Rockhopper sport
What should i buy for city riding?
Speed/Leans/Wheelies,and abit offroad.

Neither bike. Find something without suspension, and without knobby tires.

Why not?
I used to ride a 26 mtb,and it was great,but the wheel was bought broken.
I want something better now,even to start racing abit.

theyre called mountain bikes for a reason. look at almost anything except a mountain bike if youre going to be riding roads and the street

Not sure why you want a mountain bike for the road, but of those two, I'd go with the Specialized for the larger 29 wheels. First thing you have to do is get rid of the knobbies and put some city tires on that bike.
The problem is, a hybrid or a road bike is better suited to the type of riding you described (except the racing part). Mountain bikes are designed to be ridden on dirt over obsticles on narrow mountain trails. They really don't work as well as other designs on paved roads or even dirt MUPS/rails to trails.
If you are dead set on buying a mountain bike to ride on the road, I'd recommend you look at a Trek 820. It's a very good, all around bike that's at home in the city, on gravel and even some light single track.

I don't want a road bike.

I was riding a k2 zed 2.1,which was great for me,but the bike was broken with broken wheel,and now I can't even ride it.
I just want a new bike.
I was told that the merida will fit me,because it's faster on the road.

who is telling you this information? whats wrong with a road bike?

theres like half a dozen kinds of racing in the mtb corner of bikes alone. xc, dh, enduro, etc.

That's fine, but you still have a heavy, bouncy suspension robbing you of efficiency. Even if you have a lockout, its still heavy.

And you're paying extra to replace perfectly fine tires. When you could get a purpose built from the get go. You don't even need a 'road bike', a hybrid works as well. Some companies have a commuter series. Built tough for potholes and sidewalks, fender and rack mounts, still smoothtire efficient rigid bike.

Just mtb with road tires.
Should I buy 27.5 maxxis road tires,or stay with this ones?
I will race offroad then.

I don't understand why people keep insisting about the road/hybrid bike. The dude wants a mountain bike! That's all. My opinion won't matter but probably the specialized

The questions is:Why?
27.5 Is faster on the road.
29 is faster offroad.
I will ride 95% of the time,on the road.

Plans changed!
I met a guy,who is going to buy a new bike aswell,we are going to go offroad.
The merida costs 150$ more,than the specialized,but now it's 15% discount.
WHAT DO I BUY THEN?

They're going to be pretty similar, both 9-speed hardtail sport bikes with nearly the same fork. The drivetrain on the Merida looks slightly better but the fork on the Spec looks slightly better, but neither is a big difference. I'd pick the one you think looks cooler, honestly.

Yeah,but it's 27.5 vs 29er.
I will go offroad every weekend,and ride on the road everyday.

I understand you want to give advice but why suggest more than once to a hybrid/road bike when he keeps saying he wants an opinion on those 2 mountain bikes only!!!

Slicks are available in both sizes. Plenty of us commute on 38mm slicks on our 26ers.

27.5 tires,don't exist in my country.
I'm staying with the stock tires.
