Dear all
I'm agonising over buying a Klein Mantra, and had a couple of queries to anyone who has one (I ride an alluminium hardtail right now)
a) riding on technical downhill - I tend to hang off the back of my seat when descending steep bits(possibly gripping it with my thighs - hey I don;t look!) - this comes of maintaining a relatively high (or efficiennt!) seat. How well does the Mahtra respond to this approach, or do you need to "relearn" riding positions?
b) I notice that for next year the bulk of Mantra range has been dropped by Klein - any ideas why? The current rangfe only includes the Adept full suspension rig, which at their own admission is targetted differently.
TIA
Rob

i have a mantra pro built in 1999. i know that u posted this back in october, and you have probably already bought a new bike but i just want to say that i almost sit on my tire for really steep sections of trail. its not made for steep hills, i race it xc and it is sweet. AND about the company dropping the line of mantra's, except for the mantra carbon (2000) with a crappy drivetrain and parts, I think they did this to keep up with fisher and other companies. klein's adept has the pivot like the sugar and they call it the d-link i think... and i read that the adept has very thin walls. the article was in either mtn. bike action mag /or/ mountain bike mag. get a subscription to a bike magazine and it will help alot (i hope you got the klein) i rode a mantra before i bought my mantra pro and i really liked the mantra
