Just a thought.....

I realize I'm new here and haven't completely gotten the hang of things, but in my two weeks here I've definitely come to the conclusion that there are a ton of repeat threads. (tire threads, first time bikes, newbie questions, etc.)

I've been the member of a few different forums and have found that the search engine in this forum is somewhat difficult to use. The wording needs to be specific and such. But I have an idea that might save us from the repeated questions. If we were to have sub-topics under the MTB folder for Tire discussions, Newbie Questions, Brakes, Forks... then the interested person could go to that section and have more success at answering their question w/o repeating the thread from last week.

I'm not trying to critique the designer of this forum, just offering a suggestion.

There is a 'secret plan' the mods have to help with all of these things, especially the 'What bike should i get for under $500?' questions. They just havent told us what it is yet.

Seems like that's what the sticky's are for, but a lot of times new people just start posting before trying to read or search. Impatiance most likely. Some forums like this are nice and answer the questions... while others that are just as imformative in their area but are rude and flame the newbie for not searching. But after repeat ? after repeat ? I know it can get old. Think I'll put in a suggestion for a FAQ sticky. It comes in real handy for people new to the forum, but they have to be willing to read it and not start posting immediately.
