Aussies Riders
Who are the aussie riders in here, any in victoria, i just want to know where the good trails are coarses are, anything to do with mtb's, is there a site which tells you locations of jump sites and trails?

Yeah im from Australia but im from SA. Look on www.mtbr.com in trail review section for australia. Theres quite a lot there and if you want more info, look on www.farkin.net

Hey I'm from Aus, unfortunatey I'm in SA otherwise we should hook up for a ride. Go to Ballarat, they have some of the best tracks... they are huck race tracks

I'm from melbourne. Dandenongs offer great trails, and at Lysterfield park (the 2006 comm games mtbing) also has some challenging slopes. I suggest you buy $20 book of Mountain Bike Trails in a bike shop or your lbs.

I'm from Melbourne as well. Lysterfield lake is suppose to be good since they are holding the 2006 Commonwealth Games for Moutain Biking. But like what blue_neon said, buy an offroad/trail book in a bike shop. A good one is around $30-$40AUD. I had a quick look through one at my lbs, they seem to show you a few good courses and all.

sydney here, but in an old issue of aust mtb there was a guide to the best tracks in each state, ill try and dig it up but i have a bad feeling it was the issue i left at the dentist when i got my wisdom teeth out!

I did the Oaks Fire Trail from Woodford to Glenbrook on my old Trek 920 rigid on the weekend so I can call myself a mountainbiker once more. Was great fun. Suspension's for girls.

She might just want to see a bit more on her rides than your butt crack.
BTW, there's a few tandems getting around Bathurst lately. It always seems like the poor chick on the back has her head craned back since she's so close to the dude in front. Is that something your poor suffering better half suffers on your bush rig, or your's is a bit more stretched out?

For whoever it was that asked, we ride Glenrock, off the Fernleigh track. A little bit of everything, and we can make it into a nice loop that includes the beach and a cuppa.

nah, going on the trail without suspension takes some nuts too. Manly dam in sydney has a good 11km circuit, deceptively short but fairly challenging xc course - i've seen guys on rigids lap me easily so you should have no trouble.

Nope, my tree trunk legs busted the timing chain, and the missus is a bit too petite to be pushing us both home. So I got on back, and she had to steer and brake. It's a bigger job than you'd think. Here's an old photo, we've got her new seat on there now.
