Lynskey Vs. Moots

Trying to decide between Lynskey and Moots. Which company has the best bike, quality, performance, warranty, appearance, etc.?

Is this bike to impress your riding friends or being a satisfying ride? If you are after the ride, ride each. See what feels best. While you are riding you won't be thinking warranty and you are not even looking at the bike (I hope your eyes are up the road!). Both Moots and Lynsky make excellent bikes. I'd say make the decision based on ride, fit and perhaps touches on the bike that speak to you. Or perhaps by the feeling you get in your gut when you talk to those folks. It's going to be your bike, perhaps for a long time.

I rode a Merlin many years ago and knew from that one quick ride that custom ti was the bike I have always wanted. Custom ti also cost money I didn't have. Years later I got the job where I could justify the bike. I was living in Portland and had several custom stems built by TiCycles already, so it was a no-brainer to go with them for the bike. Don't regret it at all. I have a bike that fits like a glove, does everything I ask of it, will last me the rest of my life (easily) and is a joy to ride. It's probably a loser if the point is to be able to come on to forums with the ultimate coolest bike since so few people know TiCycles. I chose to have it painted so it has an appearance few would want. I don't think I ever got a sheet of paper stating the warranty but I have zero worry that TiCycles won't stand behind their work.

I bought that bike 9 years ago. 5 years later, I called them and ordered another. They have also refurbished an old steel frame for me. In theory, perhaps I could have gone to separate outfits for each of these and "done better" but a solid relationship means I can pick up the phone and talk to someone who knows my goals and priorities and that I trust.

Which model of Lynskey or Moots MTBs are you looking at, given this thread smells funny???

Buy one of each, combine parts and make a Mooskey. Could be the best of both worlds.

Probably not, the OP has not reappeared. Maybe he is too busy looking at the Moots recumbent bikes....
