I didnt know that. I may try it someday. On my yeti it would really throw off the chainline and wouldnt stay in first gear.

Actually, next crankset will either be Saint or Profiles.

As an extreme newb to the bike mechanics and engineering realms, can someone direct me to some previous threads or other links (turorials, whatever) about what I should be looking at to upgrade and such, and how to best go about stripping down/rebuilding my bike?

Par example: How can I determine what length of crank arm to switch to without actually having one slapped on and riding with it for a while?

Pardon the newbness of my request, and it's quasi-obscurity. I just plan on spending alot of time with me bike(s hopefully soon) this summer.
