Pedal shoe combos?
I am switching my road bike from toe clips to clipless pedals. I want to use spd pedals for the walkablity (hence why I posted in mountain biking). I am looking at shimano m530 pedals and using Giro rumble shoes. Does anybody have experience with this combo or have other suggestions for a tight budget?

I use XT pedals with Giro Privateer shoes on my mountain bike.. Pretty close to the same combo. I have no complaints at all. Shoes walk much better than road shoes and lugs are high enough that the cleats don't stick out but they are low enough that you don't need shims under your cleats to clip in. Like I said, I'm satisfied.

I'm real big on having things match the bike to. My bike is black and bright orange so that's part of why the rumbles caught my eye

Yeah I like the ratchet straps but I also like the shoes looking like normal shoes when I get off the bike. I also am contemplating the giro grynd for that reason

So I bought the rumbles and the 530s. The shoes are very walkable and have fantastic grip. They clip in and out easily for a clipless newbie. I'm satisfied and would recommend these products to others.
