Where are you !
I've been riding the trails behind my house since March and have several hundred miles. The kicker is I have yet to see any other riders, and now that the access gate is open I run into a bunch of cars. The fun part is that this area has over 100 miles of trails so it a blast exploring new sections every ride. Here's today fun ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7vIzJZKlI8

Those are nice trails for having right outside the back door. Really nice. They aren't the sort of singletrack most mountain bikers will drive to get to though. I'd ride 'em for sure were they by my house, but when I drive to get somewhere, then I'm after singletrack.
FWIW, even with the growing popularity of mountain-biking in my region, it's still unusual for me to meet other people on a ride. On certain high-traffic trails, yes. But outside of those, not so much. I did 30 miles last weekend and did not encounter a single other cyclist. |
Reminds me of the dirt roads through the national forest I used to ride in MI. They were close to my house as well. I had a lot of fun riding there but back then I felt that even though it was dirt and did have some hills that it wasn't mountainbikey enough which of couse wasn't true.

Mountain biking is a lot different in my neck of the woods. This is my favorite trail at our local riding area.
