Went on a nice ride today *pics*

It was nice weather, and I felt like going for a ride, so I went over to my neighbors house and asked him to come along for part of it:

He agreed, so we rode up the road, past another neighbor's house, and I saw his peacock posing for me:

We got up to jesse's turning around point, and fooled around on some 4-wheeler track for a bit:

He went back home, and I kept going up until I stopped to rest and take this pic:

Then I turned off the oil road and got on the one-lane road going to the trailhead:

Stopped along the way to take a pic of a field with cloud shadows:

Got to the trailhead:

Cruisin' along, dodgin' the turds:

Enter the singletrack:

Rode for a while, pretty crappy if you either carry the camera with one hand to take a video, or put the camera on the mini-tripod hooked to the handlebar. Set the bike down to take a pic:

Fun, curvy, slightly technical singletrack:

The rest of the trail has some great sandstone parts, some wood bridges, rocky descents, rocky climbs, etc. Nathank, if you read this thread, this is the trail you need to ride here

I got some videos, but they're nothing special since I just held the camera in my hand to take them, so I might not upload them.

What a deserted looking area you live in....
I suppose it's all about where you grow up.
I'd rather live in your area than in a city. That would be hell.

I was just going to say the same thing. There are only two kinds of people who ride without helmets: those who are ******** and those who are destined to become ******** through head injuries. Usually helmetless riders are a bit of both.

Looks pretty flat out there. You should come up to norcal. I just rode an intense trail (illegal ). It goes really really high, and there is singletrack, and then a couple packs of dirtjumps, and more fast singletrack, and rocky sections. DH all the way, no climbing. Its heaven.

Thanks for the comments...

I get it, most people think I should wear a helmet. Been beaten into me enough every time I post a pic where I'm not wearing one.

madbiker: his mom is cutting his hair in that pic, he was whining because it hurt or something.

I know, I'm right there with you. I suppose, at some time in the past three decades, someone figured out that, hey, we might want to protect that mushy thing inside our skulls that pretty much dictates everything we do, say and feel. I amazes me how stupid we were when we were kids...even mores so when our parents were children!

So why don't you start wearing one? Do you really want to end up drooling and crapping your pants in a hospital? Somehow I think I'd rather be riding.

Same. Just don't understand people with no helmets.
