Help with my bike
hi all
Just bought a used specialized hard rock bike on craigslist for 120 but i was curious if anyone knows the year it was made and if you could tell if its for male or female? its a 15 in frame 7 speed with shimano altus in the rear

I don't follow bikes closely enough to give you a year, but sometimes the serial number can be a clue. You might go to he classic forum with as much info as possible, including the serial number.
However, there were no men's or ladies bikes of that type. Classic sloping top tube mtn frames like yours are unisex.

Maybe change the saddle to go from men's to women's.
As for the year visit bikepedia and compare paint and components by year.

I got a better Idea Op,,,,
Check every single nut and bolt,,careful here, don't over tighten things.
Make sure your spokes are all about the same, none loose,,
And If you got plastic pedals,,well I've seen em fold.. just sayin....
If everything is working go for a ride,
and repeat as often as you can
